About Erdinger Weissbräu

The Story Behind Erdinger Weissbräu

Our journey takes us to Erding, a scenic town nestled in the heart of Bavaria, Germany. It is here that the narrative of Erdinger Weissbräu began in 1886 when Johann Kienle constructed the original brewery. The abundant brewing heritage of this region, together with a dedication to the finest components and age-old methods, established the groundwork for the exceptional beers we are familiar with and cherish today.

In 1949, the brewery was purchased by Franz Brombach, whose family had been engaged in the brewing industry for generations. Under his adept leadership, the brewery thrived, and Erdinger Weissbräu became synonymous with top-notch quality and unmatched flavor. Franz Brombach’s unwavering dedication to perfection and his enthusiasm for preserving the genuine Bavarian brewing techniques have been passed down through the generations. Today, his son, Werner Brombach, proudly carries on this legacy as the proprietor and managing director of Erdinger Weissbräu.

At Erdinger Weissbräu, the primary focus has always been on producing the finest wheat beers. Employing only the utmost quality ingredients, including locally sourced wheat and barley, the brewery adheres to the stringent Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. This law guarantees that only water, malt, hops, and yeast are utilized in the brewing process, maintaining the genuineness and purity of the beer.

As you savor an Erdinger Alkoholfrei Wheat Beer, visualize yourself amidst the verdant Bavarian countryside, with the majestic Alps in the distance, and the scent of freshly baked pretzels wafting through the air. You aren’t just relishing a beer; you’re encountering a piece of German history and a taste of Bavarian culture in every invigorating sip.
