About Schneider

In the heart of Bavaria, the Schneider Weisse saga began in 1872 when Georg I Schneider, a master brewer, acquired the Weisses Brauhaus in Munich. Devoted to wheat beer, Georg Schneider embraced the traditional Bavarian brewing art and was determined to uphold the distinctive flavors of Bavarian wheat beer.

At a time when lagers and pilsners dominated the German beer landscape, Schneider Weisse continued to prioritize top-fermented wheat beers, setting themselves apart from the mainstream. Their commitment to excellence and adherence to ancient Bavarian brewing traditions resulted in the creation of exceptional wheat beers, which quickly gained renown across Germany and beyond.

Now, six generations later, the Schneider family maintains ownership of the brewery, remaining faithful to the original brewing philosophy. The company has expanded over the years, with the brewery relocating to Kelheim, where it stands today. Schneider Weisse has also introduced a variety of innovative and diverse wheat beers to their lineup, while upholding their dedication to the highest standards of quality and traditional Bavarian brewing techniques.

As pioneers in the wheat beer industry, Schneider Weisse has consistently demonstrated that tradition and innovation can exist in harmony, resulting in exceptional beers cherished by generations of discerning beer enthusiasts.
